Requirements to register to vote in the State of Florida
To register, you must:

be a United States citizen.

be 18 years old (you may pre-register if you are 16 years old).

not claim the right to vote in another county or state.

be a legal resident of the State of Florida.

be a legal resident of the county in which you seek to be registered.

Provide your current and valid Florida driver’s license number or
Florida identification card number. If you do not have a current and valid
Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card, you must provide
the last four digits of your Social Security number.
If you do not have a FL DL#, FL ID card#, or SSN, write “NONE” in the box.
The following persons are NOT entitled to register to vote:

a person who has been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting and has not had his or her right to vote restored.

a person who has been convicted of a felony by any court and has not had his or her right to vote restored.
Party affiliation:
At the time of registration, applicants are requested to designate their party affiliation. An applicant may designate one of the two major political parties, a minor political party recognized by Florida, or may request to be registered with no party affiliation. If the applicant does not designate a party affiliation, the voter will be registered with no party affiliation. Party affiliation will, in most instances, govern a voter's participation in primary elections.
